Epistolary Mother Tongue & The secret
Epistolary Mother Tongue & The Secret is Sylvain Souklaye’s attempt to build a dual and consecutive collaborative performance. In less than fifteen minutes he builds and maintains an invisible link between the audience and the memories behind the words.
Firstly (Epistolary Mother Tongue), Sylvain Souklaye shares a dictionary with the audience and invites them to select some words in order to assemble a memorial lexicon. From it, an intimate narrative is formed, told and painted.
In the second act (The Secret), each member of the audience is part of Sylvain Souklaye’s immediate memories and intimate narratives. Once the audience feels at home in his mind, he invites them to come closer to his body and to become a part of him. This is the mandatory action to start hearing The Secret and unfold the NOW, US and HERE.
