Impossible obsolescence

Impossible obsolescence is a performative installation of our desires and accountability regarding consumerism. It explores the endless ways we create tailor-made and localized pollution daily. During the process, one or/and multiple audience members will think and define concepts with simple words and assemble elements of conservation and destruction.

With Impossible obsolescence, the audience is invited to create an ephemeral but permanent and continuous installation. They will perform a consumerist ritual. When the dopamine moment is gone, and the only lasting memories is trash, protective trash, what does it say about us?

Buying things and dopamine are seamless. Opening a box is quick and easy. Disposing of the detritus is complicated and slow. Recycling is an option for some, but sometimes it is impossible. Therefore we are what we buy, isn’t it, maybe? But we are what we try to forget.

Impossible obsolescence is an opportunity to spend quality time with your trash and yourself.
