the one minute silence screen
the one minute silence screen is the visual counterpart of my daily audio performance the one minute silence room.
I initiated the one minute silence room on Clubhouse after hearing endless mayhem of voices that I didn’t want to leave. Voices offer an imaginary togetherness in the days of all sorts of distancing.
the one minute silence screen is my attempt to find a moment of peace between news cycles, likes and gif. I want to create an intentional space and a framed time of silence and stillness.
the one minute silence screen is a brief collective performance about breathing and reflecting in front of the digital frame.
During the performance, the audience is held accountable, not the performer. Like a reminder, a landscape or even a mirror folded in a pocket, I perform a ritual breathing through this mantra – join me:
